Banner Pennant Girl Scout Quilt

The idea of this quilt all started with a photo I pinned on Pinterest years ago. A beautiful collection of antique pennants sewn onto a quilt.  I never forgot that pin/photo.  Pictured here: Fast forward to 2018.  While in JoAnns Fabrics one day I passed by Girl Scout Pennant/Banner Felt fabric by the yard. I fell in love and the pennant quilt I had originally pinned several years ago came rushing back to me.  I didn't buy the fabric that day. Patch Travel Jackets

When we were on vacation in Las Vegas, I saw patches just about at every single store.  Later I began to wonder why?  Then I realized people collect them like the tiny spoons, shot glasses, fridge magnets, and pins.  They then put them on jackets to show off the places they've been.  I knew I wanted to make the girls patch jackets similar to the senior year jacket displaying your high school accomplishments.  I wanted the girls to show off their love to travel and everywhere they've been, so we started our journey of collecting patches everywhere we visited. Ireland & Scotland Trip

I had a WONDERFUL time, and saw a lot of history while on vacation in Ireland and Scotland. I took so many pictures and my teenage daughter was with me so we did her Senior photos at a Castle.  I've been super busy with my new Sous Vide cooker that I haven't been able to edit photos but here is a look at just one of 100s of photos I'll be posting soon.
